A. I just finished reading The Witch's Guide to Cooking With Children. Yep. I was voting for the witch.
“Many of us primarily read one genre of books, with others sprinkled in. If authors stopped writing that genre, what genre would you start reading? Or would you give up reading completely if you couldn’t read that genre anymore?”
My favorite genre is YA. There just will never be a time when that isn't available. I love that over the past few years, more and more books are flooding into the teen realm. I also love zombie, witch, vampire, mysteries, women's fiction and cookbooks. Oh, and crochet/knitting books. With my diverse habits, I don't think I will ever lack for anything to keep me occupied.

ReplyDeleteI don't see YA as a genre, but as a category that contains many genres within it. So, I'd be safe if YA authors weren't writing. I'd miss my fantasy authors, like Neil Gaiman --- but I'd still find plenty to read.

YA in the vast quantities it's published now is a relatively new thing. There wasn't nearly the sort of selection and high quality books when I was a young adult.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many different things to read even if new books in a favorite genre stopped being published. Please come see what I would read.
I am also very eclectic. I'm not worried either about running out of books.
